Meetings are open to Village residents unless the Board is in Executive Session.

Standing Committees
Committee members are an integral part of decision making in the Village. They are the principal advisors to the Board on a myriad of issues.
Assets Management
- Meets the Thursday before the Board meeting at 7:30 pm.
- Advises the Board on financial matters such as the annual budget and financial audits.

Communications
- Meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm.
- Responsible for The Village Crier newsletter, website content and design, and new, innovative communications strategies for the Village community.

Covenants
- Meets the third Monday of the month at 7:30 pm.
- Maintains the Village's historic character and appearance, approves renovation requests, interprets and enforces Village policies, and mediates neighbor-to-neighbor concerns.
- Consists of five members appointed by the Board for a one-year term.
- To request review of alteration plans (other than deck alterations), please submit an Alteration Pre-Approval Form (you can also download it from the Forms section of the Resource Center). All materials related to alteration requests (other than deck changes) must be submitted one week prior to the Committee's monthly meeting.
- To request review of deck replacements or improvements, please submit a Standard Deck Replacement or Improvement Application to the office before project start. The General Manager and/or Facilities Manager will review the application and respond.
- To report a violation, please submit a Violation Reporting Form.

Environmental Resources/Water Conservation (Green Team)
- Meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm.
- Dedicated to preserving and protecting the Village Ravine, a certified natural wildlife habitat, and developing a vision of sustainability through fostering community awareness about environmental issues. Researches and proposes actions to the homeowners association, through the Board of Directors, in the areas of environmental restoration, waste management and recycling, water conservation, energy efficiency, environmental education, and community outreach.

Grounds
- Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.
- Plans large- and small-scale planting projects to maintain and improve the beauty and safety of Village grounds.
- Helps to develop Village grounds policy.
- Owner and resident grounds improvement projects must be approved in advance by the Committee. To request review of your plans, please download the Planting Proposal Form, fill it in, and return it to the Village office. Two resources, the Village Grounds Policy and Landscape Design Guide and Plant Lists, are available to help you with planning.
- Small assistance grants are also available.

Security
- Meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.
- Works with Arlington County public officials to insure that the Village is safe for our residents; organizes door decorating contests, the annual Holiday Party, game nights, and pool parties.

Ad-Hoc Committees
The Board creates ad-hoc committees to work on special projects. For example, ad-hoc committees developed the policies on washer/dryers and satellite dishes.
Elections Committee
At least ninety days prior to an annual meeting, the Board appoints at least three unit owners to develop and administer election procedures.
