Resident Services Overview

Arlington Village offers many services to its residents. For more information on those listed below or other services, please call the office at (703) 920-1000.

Bike Room - To facilitate bike storage, Arlington Village provides a secure room where residents can store their bikes. To register your bike and receive a key, just fill in a Bicycle Sticker Request Form online or download the form and return it to the Village office.

Bulk Trash Pickup - If you have large items that do not fit in the normal trash toters or enclosures, Village staff can pick the items up for you. Depending on the items, a small fee may apply. Please call the office for more details or to arrange a pickup.

Christmas Tree Disposal - After the holiday season, please place your Christmas tree next to the trash enclosure. Staff will pick it up and place it in a holding area for recycling.

Community Room - The community room, located next to the Village office, is available to residents for personal meetings and events. Please call the office to register. Certain rules apply, and a refundable deposit is required.

Gutter Cleaning - If you notice your roof gutters overflowing, call the office and request that your gutters be cleaned.

In-Unit Maintenance - Arlington Village's on-site staff can take care of a number of maintenance issues for our residents. Light plumbing, such as leaky faucets and stopped-up drains and toilets, is the main service provided. There is a $50/hour fee, but this is usually less than calling a contractor. To set up an appointment, call the office or submit an In-Unit Maintenance Request Form online.

Key Service - Provided the office has a key on file, a resident or owner can authorize access to it. Please send an email with the name of the authorized individual to . Authorized persons can then check out the key. All keys must be returned promptly. The Village can also make extra unit keys for a $5.00 fee and deliver them to your unit. To take advantage of this service, drop off a check made payable to Arlington Village at the office.

Laundry Rooms - The Village maintains 10 laundry rooms with commercial, coin-operated machines. Your door key is coded to allow access to these rooms. Many units have installed their own washers and dryers; however, residents find the commercial machines useful to catch up on laundry or to launder larger items.

Lock-out Service - All units are required to have a key on file at the Village office. During Village office hours (7 am to 4 pm), you can check out your key if you lock yourself out. After office hours, you can still obtain your key by calling (703) 920-1000 and requesting lock-out service. Leave a call-back number where you can be reached. The fees are $75 for lock-out calls occurring from 4 pm to midnight, and $100 for calls from midnight to 7 am and on weekends and holidays. These fees are lower than the average charged for emergency service by a locksmith and reflect the costs and time commitment for Village employees. Staff members conducting lock-out service do not live in the Village, so allow for travel time. Be prepared to pay the staff member by check on site upon arrival.

Locksmith Service - One of our staff members is a trained locksmith. Using this in-house service ensures access to the laundry rooms and matching front- and back- door keys. The fee is $100 for three keys, $5 for each additional key. Please contact the office to arrange this service.

New-Resident Services - A Welcome Package will be delivered to any new resident upon request. Delivery is triggered automatically when a landlord files a lease with the office (as required by regulations) and when new owners file a HUD sheet (also required by regulations). The Unit/Resident Information Sheet must be completed and returned to the Village office.

Pest Control - The Village offers pest control service free of charge (for regular household pests). You can request service by calling the office or submitting a Pest Control Service Request Form online. Requests must be submitted no later than 3 pm on the Tuesday before you wish the service to be performed.

Parking - Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No stickers or passes are needed for residents or guests. However, all vehicles owned by residents must be registered with the Village office so you can be notified if your car needs to be moved for Village maintenance. Please complete the Unit/Resident Information Sheet to register your car. Should you wish to review it, the Village parking policy is on file with the office.

Pool - The Village pool is available for resident use from Memorial Day through two weekends after Labor Day. Each unit filling out a Pool Pass Application Form will be issued passes, provided the unit is current on all assessments. A book of 10 additional guest passes may be purchased at the Village office for $50. Individual guest passes are also available for purchase at the pool by personal check made payable to Arlington Village.

Roof Maintenance - Maintenance of your roof is covered by your condo fee. If you discover a leak, contact the Village office as soon as possible. Signs of a roof leak include stains on upper level ceiling and bubbling that looks like toothpaste.

Security Lighting - Please report any malfunctioning security light or walkway lamp-post light to the Village office.  Please be prepared to give an accurate description of the location of the light. Lighting on very tall poles is the responsibility of Virginia Power; please report problems with these lights to the Village office and to Virginia Power by calling (888) 667-3000.

Snow Removal - Village staff shovel and plow snow on our property. Arlington County plows the main streets, and the Village contracts for parking lots to be plowed. Often some Village staff members spend the night in the Village to begin removal as soon as feasible; please be understanding if your sidewalk isn't cleared right away. You are responsible for snow removal to clear your back door and deck, and feel free to shovel your front walkway if staff haven't gotten to it yet. Please use a stick or broom handle to knock down any icicles that form from gutters to minimize danger to people and property.

Storage Rooms
- Each unit is assigned an extra storage bin in one of our storage rooms. Items are stored at owner's risk, and owners provide their own locks. You must contact the office for the location of your assigned bin and a key to the storage room. A vacant bin is not necessarily an available bin.

Tennis Courts - The Village has two tennis courts for exclusive use by residents during daylight hours. The courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To obtain a key to the gate, please submit a Tennis Court Key Application Form or call the office for a paper form. A $15 refundable deposit is required.

Trash Pickup  and Recycling (Regular)  - Place regular trash in a plastic bag and deposit it in the trash bins located in the trash enclosures in your courtyard. Village staff empty the bins three times weekly--Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Recycling is picked up every Wednesday. The Village recycles plastics marked 1-7 (including margarine and yogurt tubs), glass, aluminum cans, mixed paper (e.g., newspapers, catalogs, envelopes, and single-layer cardboard such as cereal boxes), and two-layer cardboard boxes. Clean, empty, break down, and compact items as much as possible and place them in the marked recycling bins; stack two-layer cardboard by the bins. Do not put paint cans or volatile fluids in the bins. (Paint, in particular, can leak from our trash truck and cause unsightly staining to our streets.) Instead, call the Village office for instructions on disposal.
